If you are interested in becoming a member of First Presbyterian Church, you are invited to meet ministers and members of Session on the second Sunday of each month in the Parlor. To give you a great welcome to the First Presbyterian family, it would be helpful to us, but not necessary, to know of your desire to join before the meeting by contacting Cathy Bagwell, Volunteer and New Member Coordinator ([email protected]) or Congregational Care Administrative Assistant Joanie Shackleton ([email protected]).

Discover FPC

Discover FPC classes are offered for visitors and new members to learn more and ask questions about First Presbyterian Church, our values, mission, and programs.

These classes are open to anyone and provide an opportunity to learn about our church and the denomination. Attending Discover FPC is not necessary to join!

June 9

One day class after church

Beginning September 8

A series of three classes on Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:45am

Contact Cathy Bagwell, Visitor and New Member Coordinator, if you have any questions and if you plan to attend.

Ways to Join

A public acknowledgment of your dependence on Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you have not been baptized, you would be baptized at this time.

Reaffirmation of Faith

You have previously professed your faith in Jesus Christ through baptism, but would like to reaffirm that commitment.

Transfer of Letter

You are currently a member of another Christian Church and you would like your membership transferred to First Presbyterian Church. Our church handles all paperwork.

Affiliate Member

A person who is a member of another church, but temporarily spends time in Spartanburg and wishes to be officially connected to First Presbyterian, can do so while maintaining membership at their present church.
