The Lord has already told you what is good, and this is what it requires: to do what is right, to love mercy, to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

All of my life has been centered in or around a local church. As a child, I loved the quietness and the discipline of being in church. When I grew up and could choose my place of worship, my choice was The Presbyterian Church (USA). Growing older, and feeling wonderfully blessed, I began to think of what could I give the Lord for all He blesses me with every day. An inner voice spoke to me saying, “Yourself.” Around five o’clock the next morning, I got out of bed, picked up my Bible and began reading. That was 40 years ago and I am still reading! One thing I discovered is that an early time with God is my “Best Self.” There is peace, quietness, no phone calls, television—just my God and me! What a joy! He speaks, I listen. I feel His presence!

Prayer:
When I keep you first in my life, O Lord, all goes well. Help me never forget who is the Joy of my life. Amen.
