The Mission of First Presbyterian Church is to Glorify God and share Christ through Word and Deed.

Our Vision is that First Presbyterian Church is a place where:

     People love to give their time in mission and service

     People love to share their financial resources

     People love to study and proclaim the Word of God

     People love to spend time together as the Body of Christ,

     People love each other, and

     All are welcome.

Founded in 1843, we are a congregation of 2700+ situated at the heart of Spartanburg. This is not simply a statement of geography, but also one of mission and theology. From its founding, our Church has cared through ministries that reach outside the Church to bring the Gospel to bear on the needs of our time. We are both young and old, traditional and open to new horizons for ministry and mission. Worship is the center of our life, traditional yet energetic, centering on the proclamation of the Word of God in a way that connects scripture and Jesus Christ to our members.
