Interim Associate Pastor

The Reverend Laura Palmer graduated from Columbia Seminary in Decatur, Georgia in 2010, where she earned her Master of Divinity with honors. She was the recipient of the Robert H. Ramey Christian Leadership Award, presented to “a student who shows promise of providing outstanding leadership to the Church and who has demonstrated unusual leadership qualities and spiritual depth and integrity.”

Commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy in 2008, Laura completed Officer Development School in Newport, Rhode Island in 2009. She is an active participant in the Navy Chaplain Candidate Program and ultimately seeks to serve as a career Navy chaplain.

Laura joined the staff of First Presbyterian in January 2011 as Interim Associate Pastor, with major assignments in pastoral care, administration, and missions.
