Adult Music

Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir, composed of around 50 members, sings regularly at the church's 11:00 a.m. worship service and presents special programs during the course of the year. The choir, known for its strong musical standards and high-quality performances, is open to anyone who wishes to join. Musical and vocal training are provided to choir members who need or desire it. The Chancel Choir rehearses Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. September through May.

The Chamber Singers
The Chamber Singers are composed of 26 voices. The group sings a broad range of repertoire, and the Singers are especially known for their Christmas music. They sing annually at the Biltmore House’s Candlelight Christmas tours and staff First Presbyterian’s popular Moravian Love Feast. Their 1999 CD, Veni Emmanuel, was honored by beliefnet.com as one of the best Christmas CDs of the year. Their most recent CD, All My Heart This Night Rejoices may be purchased at the church office.

Genesis Choir

All interested singers are warmly invited to participate in the Genesis
Choir, which sings at our 8:45 a.m.sanctuary service on the first and third Sunday of each month. The Genesis Choir rehearses at 8:00 a.m. on the Sundays they sing.

Handbell Choir
Adults and high school age students are welcome in the Handbell Choir, which performs in worship and locally. Music reading skills are helpful, but not required to become a successful ringer. Enrollment is limited. Contact Holt Andrews for more information (208-2134 / rhandrews@fpcspartanburg.org).

The Summer Choir and Christmas Eve Choir are open to all adults (and High School students) who enjoy singing but are unable to be regular members of the Chancel Choir. The Christmas Eve Choir rehearses prior to Christmas and performs at both of the church's popular Candlelight services on Christmas Eve. The Summer Choir meets on Sunday mornings at 10:15 from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Participants rehearse music for that Sunday only and sing at the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
