National Missions at First Presbyterian serve the people of our country, especially through support of the work and growth of our denomination, the Presbyterian Church (USA). Our missions focus on five main areas: providing shelter for the elderly and assistance for those who experience disasters in their communities; strengthening campus ministry to college students and developing a new generation of leaders in the church; sustaining the Thornwell Home for Children, who have suffered emotional crises in their families; participating in the mission of the Presbyterian church; and fighting poverty in the United States.
