Our Nursery is open to children from six-weeks through three-years old. First Presbyterian provides Nursery care on Sunday mornings, during Wednesdays at First, during special worship services, and on other occasions as needed. Our Nursery is located on the first floor of the Clark Building on Sundays, during some special worship services, and on other special occasions. During Wednesdays at First it is located in the Family Life Center next to the gym.

Our goal is to provide nurture for our children and support for their families so that all may grow in knowledge and love of God.

Age Groups in Church Nursery Classrooms

Our Nursery rooms are staffed with trained employees of First Presbyterian and with member volunteers. All follow our Seven Safety Practices for those working with children and youth.

We ask parents to let us know their children’s personal needs (e.g., allergies, medications, etc.) so that we can address them. We also ask parents to sign in their children on each occasion when they use the Nursery so that we can provide pagers for use if the need arises. In addition, we release the children only to the parent or guardian who signed them in unless we have specific instructions to release them to another adult named by the parent or guardian.

To help member families prepare for the baptism of their children, we ask that they attend a Baptism Orientation class held during the Sunday School hour. (See First News for dates.) In addition, we provide a parent newsletter, Splash, to help families with Christian nurture during the child’s first three years of life.
