First Presbyterian’s Women’s Ministries include a number of opportunities for fellowship, study, service, and spiritual development.
Women’s Ministries Circles
All women of the congregation are invited to join one of our Women’s Ministries Circles to grow in faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, and to build a caring community of women. The Circles meet monthly from September through May. Their schedules are shown below. The Women’s Ministries Council meets on the first Monday of each month. All women are invited to come to council meetings to learn more about Women’s Ministries. Check First News each month from September through May for specific days, times, and locations.

The Ladies’ Chapel Class meets in the Chapel each Sunday to study The Present Word Curriculum. Check First News for the weekly lesson title and teacher.
A number of Women’s Study Groups meet on a regular basis throughout the year. Some meet only during the months of the school year. See the listing of current opportunities in Adult Study Groups.
Women’s Retreat
First Presbyterian has an annual retreat for women of all ages—a weekend get-away to refresh and renew our relationships with God and each other. There are many ways to get involved.
Opportunities for Service
Many First Presbyterian women serve the church as officers and as members of committees of the Session and Diaconate. Some join the Sanctuary Guild and the Flower Guild. They volunteer to help with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Wednesdays at First, Children’s Worship, retreats, Advent and Christmas programs, Lent and Easter programs, and in congregational care ministries led by the Deacons. Check First News for information about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
For more information about programs for women, contact Jane Mullins (208-2139 / jmullins@fpcspartanburg.org).
